I’m going to keep this one nice and short because the old saw that a picture is worth a thousand words has never been more apropos.
I came home from book tour (only one more stop and that’s near my house) and it has been a wonderful couple of weeks. HOLD TIGHT, thanks to many of you, will debut this Sunday on the NEW YORK TIMES bestseller list at number one. That’s a first for me. Simultaneously, thanks again to many of you, it debuts at one in the UK. Such a thrill.
But this picture taken at Camp Eggers in Kabul… I mean, doesn’t it say it all? Is there any greater accolade? I love getting emails from happy readers at harlancoben.com. They all mean something special to me. But I hold an extra special place in my heart – and I’m sure you get that – for the soldiers who are serving overseas and take the time to write.
So stay safe, guys. Thanks for the pic. You are our heroes.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s such an awesome picture from awesome folks. Hope they’re safely back home soon!
Harlan,
What a great picture. I’ve known many people who send their books overseas to our military when they’re done with them instead of selling to 2nd hand bookstores, etc. I think I’d be tempted to keep this pic as your banner.
I hope that audiobooks figure into the number for the lists. I have Hold Tight in audio. As I commented on his MySpace page, if I see a favorite author releasing a new book, and Scott Brick’s the narrator, it’s an autobuy for the audiobook. Enough said.
Congrats on the #1 Debut.
Happy Writing!
That is an amazing picture…….
You should come tour in the midwest so I can get a book
and just one more word…
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!
A NY Times debut at #1, gad that makes me proud. It’s been a long road but it was so worth it, huh.
I always knew you had it in you, big fella.

What a great picture and what a nice tribute to you! You deserve it…..love your stuff and I am saving the new one as a treat for getting my messy house clean(er) Don’t know if I can hold out that long!

A wonderful picture! Couldn’t agree more. And just as wonderful is HOLD TIGHT, which I’m half way through ‘listening’ to right now. (Scott Brick is an amazing reader). I’m loving every minute of it as is the case with all your books. Keep up the good work and congratulations. You deserve the number one spot!
Hi from Australia, love this picture, you guys are so patriotic, loved the book, couldnt wait to clean the house……….loved the picture, watched it here in Australia, in the open at a local University with French subtitles…..great, great, great.
Be safe, bring the soldiers home safe.
Congratulations

Regards, and sorry, as my English is still not good…
The photo is very soulful, and especially, as I think, for You as an author of these books.
I just discovered You and Your books “Tell No One”, “No Second Chance” and “Gone For Gode” – all, of couse, in Russian. I read books only electronically in my old Nokia 3650 (1,5 Gb library in text format of 200 authors) and could find Yours books on the Internet. I am sorry if all of this is “pirate” way of reading…
My first impression was almost fantastic as I did not read the such “cops and robbers” style books, and also ones that goes straight to the soul, for a long time.
Thanks for your works.
Mikhail from St.Petersburg in Russia
An absolutely fab photo, what more is there to say.
Just wanted to say thank you for bringing out Hold Tight in the UK just before my holiday lol. Made it last 3 days (it was hard to put down but had to ration myself as I was on holiday for a fortnight!). It was fantastic as always. xXx Vanda (England)
Love your books – actually devour them once they are out. My husband downloads your book on DVDs to listen to during his commute to and from work.
Also very excited about the picture of the troops with your books. My daughter just returned from serving in Iraq – she is also a fan. I normally pass my books to her or my neighbor. Keep writing, my friend!
hi,
my English is pretty lame ( i’m from Israel) so i’ll make it short..
i LOVE your books, i read them in Hebrew but i just bougth few in English, i never read books in English so you should take it as a huge compliment!!
can’t wait for the next one..
good luck
Love the pics and our military!
What is the name of the book the guy in middle of pic on home page is holding, “Bolitor’s Game?”
I thought I’d read all of Coben’s books, but this isn’t one of them, and it’s not listed as one of his novels? Anybody know the story?
Thanks,
Fav
BOLITAR’S GAME is a book club “three-in-one” ominbus — in short, it contains three older Myron books.
So you’re not missing anything, Jon. Thanks!
Harlan
Ok, by now I can say that I read all your books… mission complete!
My dad is a big fan of yours and I find it wonderful spending a few hours at the beach (in Eilat, Israel, my hometown, where I visited not so long ago), reading you.
And this photo is great!
Greetings from Hamburg (I wonder if you are big in Germany, I don’t recall seeing your books in German!)

I sent a copy of The Woods to my brother, an Army major in Iraq. I am trying to finish Hold Tight so I can send it along also. My mother [who lives with me] just bought several of your books which were published earlier, and we will both read them and pass them along to my brother asap. It’s so wonderful to discover a new author that everyone in the family can enjoy! We all like intelligent, quickly paced books.
Please keep writing!
I just finished Hold Tight, and once again, was saddened because it ended. I want your stories to go on; I don’t want to have to wait a year for your next book.
Great picture there Harlan, I had a bit of a chuckle when I first saw it. Congratulations on the new movie as well… I’ll be keeping an eye out for that.
I read one of your older books a while back, and I was quiet pleased with the fact that you kept me up all night reading it. So, yesterday I went hunting for more of your books… and borrowed every single one my local library had.
I also sent you an email yesterday… so I’m hoping I get a reply (but take your time… no doubt your a busy man).
Thanks for taking me to a new world with your books!
- Daniel Rutter
Awesome picture! Hope all of them are safe and coming home soon!
Congrats on the #1! Love all your books! Just found out 2 that I haven’t red ( Play Dead and Miracle Cure). And can’t wait for the next Myron book!
